This online Blended Learning Paediatric First Aid module is designed to Support Learners, who plan to undertake the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Classroom course and is NOT a replacement for the Paediatric course.
What does the course involve?
The E-Learning module is completed in your own time before you attend the practical training element.
This course is the initial online part of this regulated qualification. you will need to complete the practical part, in classroom, in order to receive the award.
Using high-quality videos alongside written guidance, this children’s first aid course is specially designed to help people learn new skills and knowledge, or refresh existing first aid skills, in order to have more confidence to take action at the time of an incident.
The course is divided into six accessible, interactive modules and includes an assessment at the end:
Introduction and Primary Assessment – the aim of first aid, your first aid box, the primary assessment: danger, response, airway, breathing.
Resuscitation (CPR) – how to administer CPR to a child and a baby, things to consider and how to treat unconscious casualties.
Secondary Areas Part 1 – putting a child and an infant in the recovery position, choking, wounds, bleeding and shock.
Secondary Areas Part 2 – burns, eye injuries, head injuries, fractures, spinal injuries and amputation.
Secondary Conditions and Reactions Part 1 – asthma, allergies, bites and stings, nose bleeds, diabetes, epilepsy, high temperatures and hyperventilation.
Secondary Conditions and Reactions Part 2 – sickle cell, meningitis and septicaemia, fainting, sprains and strains, poisoning, smoke inhalation, hypothermia, electric shock, croup and drowning.
The course is assessed in the classroom, with a multiple choice examination and practical assessment and theory observations

Pass your test
Most courses have some form of assessment to check that you have attained the required level of skill and knowledge to achieve the qualification. Our tutors will support your learning, and provide coaching where needed, to support success.
Gain your qualification
At the end of On Line courses, the test results are immediately assessed, and the result available. Successful candidates will be able to download their certificate directly.
For classroom courses, any examinations or assignments have to be independently assessed, prior to qualifications being awarded. If you are successful, your certificate will be posted to you as soon as available.
