Qualification Assessment
First Aid is a highly practical subject which means you will be performing numerous practical activities during the 2 days (practicing techniques including CPR, the Recovery Position, etc). Learners will be required to demonstrate some of their skills on each other, to simulate incident management. Your tutor will assess your capability on each technique during these practical exercises.
At the end of the course there is a multiple-choice question exam paper to complete to demonstrate theoretical knowledge.
You must pass both the practical assessment and the question paper to achieve qualification.
First Aid at Work Requalification Certification
Once you successfully complete all aspects of the assessment, you’ll receive your new First Aid at Work certificate, which will again be valid for 3 years.
After the 3 years, you will need to retake this 2 day refresher course again to requalify, if you wish to continue practicing first aid.
Bear in mind, the qualification process requires candidates to have an in-date First Aid at Work certificate. For further information see the Qualification Specification.
