- Role and Responsibilities of a First Aider
- Assessing an Incident
- Unresponsive Casualties
- Choking
- External Bleeding
- Shock
- Minor Injuries
- Secondary Survey
- Injuries to Bones, Muscles and Joints
- Head and Spinal Injuries
- Chest Injuries
- Burns and Scalds
- Eye Injuries
- Poisoning
- Anaphylaxis
- Major Illnesses
Certification
After passing, you’ll receive your certificate which is valid for 3 years.
When your 3 years is up, you will need to retake this 2 day refresher course if you wish to continue practicing.
Bear in mind, the refresher course requires candidates to have an in-date First Aid at Work certificate.
Assessment
First Aid is a highly practical subject which means you will be performing numerous practical activities during the 3 days (practicing techniques including CPR, the Recovery Position, etc).
Your tutor will assess your capablity on each technique during these practical exercises.
At the end of the course there is a multiple-choice question exam paper to complete to demonstrate theoretical knowledge.
You must pass both the practical assessment and the question paper to achieve qualification.
