The total qualification time for this Level 3 Supervising Food Safety qualification is 25 hours, of this 20 hours are recommended as guided learning hours, time spent with the tutor.
It is traditionally delivered in the classroom over 3 days.
Where booking for a group of experienced food supervisors the classroom sessions may be reduced to 2 days by arrangement. Learners would be required to complete some pre-work and independent study in preparation for the classroom sessions.
Who is this Level 3 Supervising Food Safety course aimed at?
Supervisors/managers and future supervisors and managers. The training of food handlers is a legal requirement, and the key to profitability and high standards of food safety is to train supervisors and managers and ensure their competency.
Candidates will learn a variety of topics. These include the supervisor’s circle of responsibility, key legislation and controlling contamination.

Assessment and Certification
Candidates will receive a course booklet to assist them throughout the course.
Candidates will undertake a multiple-choice question paper to test their understanding. Successful candidates will receive their certificate, accredited through Highfield Qualifications, shortly after the training day.
We recommend that candidates retake the course every 3 years to refresh their understanding.
