Our AED & Basic Life Support course gives candidates confidence in the use of defibrillators. Candidates will learn to provide safe, prompt & effective treatment in an emergency situation.

The course focuses on topics designed to save lives. The full course content is:
- Managing an unresponsive breathing casualty
- Managing an unresponsive non-breathing casualty
- Understanding the safe use of defibrillators
- Safe use of defibrillators
Assessment and Certification
Candidates are assessed during each practical activity. At the end of the course candidates will complete a multiple choice question exam paper. Each candidate must successfully complete both elements of assessment to successfully pass the course.
Successful candidates receive a Basic Life Support & AED Certificate, accredited through Highfield Qualifications and valid for 3 years.
The course must be retaken to retain qualification after 3 years.
Who needs Basic Life Support and Defibrillator Training?
This course is ideal for those working in an organisation where a defibrillator is available within the workplace, nearby, or where equipment purchase is being considered.
Qualified First Aiders can utilised this course as a refresher of resuscitation techniques learned previously on courses including Emergency First Aid at Work.
The AED & Basic Life Support course provides in-depth knowledge of using a defibrillator and how to best assess your casualty.
