Complete this Level 3 First Aid at Work Refresher course, before your original first aid certificate is 3 years old, in order to remain qualified to continue practising First Aid.
This specialised First Aid at Work Refresher course allows you to renew your qualification in just 2 days.
So, if your 3-day First Aid at Work qualification is close to expiry (or has expired less than a month before), you can save time and money on re-qualification.
During the First Aid at Work Refresher course, you’ll update your first aid skills by refreshing your knowledge on topics and techniques including CPR, bandaging and treatment of major illness & injury.

Note: A candidate must possess a valid 3-day First Aid at Work certificate to enrol on this course (certificate must be less than 3 years and one month old, by the end date of the course).
First Aid at Work Refresher Content
Over two days, you’ll refresh your understanding of topics and techniques from the First Aid at Work course.
The full course content is as follows:
UNIT 1 – Emergency First Aid at Work
- Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider
- Assessing an Incident
- Unresponsive Casualties
- External Bleeding
- Minor Injuries
UNIT 2 – Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury
- Secondary Survey
- Injuries to Bones, muscles and joints
- Head and spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Major Illnesses
Assessment and Certification
You’ll go over numerous practical activities during your 2-day re-qualification course (CPR, the Recovery Position, etc). Whilst you complete each task, your tutor will assess your capability to make sure that you are performing each technique correctly.
In addition, you’ll sit a multiple-choice question paper.
You must pass both the practical assessment and the question paper to retain your certificate.
After passing, First Aid at work refresher course your certificate will once again be valid for 3 years. When your 3 years is up, you’ll need to, once again, retake this 2-day First Aid at Work Refresher course if wish to continue practising.

Who needs the First Aid at Work Refresher training course?
The First Aid at Work Refresher course is open to anyone with a valid 3-day First Aid at Work certificate close to expiry.
In addition, you have a 1-month period after expiration, during which, you can still take a refresher course. However, you will not be qualified to provide first aid.
